The walls and fortresses imply that this city is indeed strong; therefore, only if the gates are deliberately opened can anyone hope to enter.A reference that Salvation through Yeshua is indeed open to all, and that is the ONLY way to Salvation, but again it that Salvation is available to all.Isaiah reminds the people that GOD keeps in perfect peace all who keep their minds focused on HIM.
Isaiah reminds the people that GOD keeps all those who rely on HIM, stay in HIM in perfect peace. That is perfect comes to those who keep their minds focused on HIM.HE calls believers to trust in the LORD forever because HE is secure, referring to GOD as an everlasting rock.
The prophet Obadiah similarly noted that the Edomites thought they were secure in their mountain fortresses; but GOD would still defeat them. That is a great example and we have looked at Edom before. Modern day Jordan.
Isaiah’s soul longs for the LORD. Isaiah knows that the world will not learn righteousness until the LORD brings judgment on wickedness. He also knows that many of those wicked will not change their ways.
In the end, the LORD will bring peace to Israel and Judah. After all, GOD is the source of every good thing they have ever had, same with us. JAM 1:17, Every good and perfect gift is from above.
GEN 12:1-3, Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
In the Levitical Priesthood, once a year the High Priest would go through the veil to the Holy of Holies to seek atonement for himself first and then for the people. Yeshua’s death on the Cross for the sins of all tore that veil (from top to bottom). No longer was man to fear that veil and GOD’s presence, like the High priest. In fact, when Yeshua came and began HIS Ministry with HIS Baptism the Heavens were tore open.
MAR 1:9-10 It came to pass in those days that Yeshua came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water, HE saw the heavens parting (schidzo = tore open) and the Spirit descending upon HIM like a dove.
MAR 15:37-38, And Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, and breathed HIS last. Then the veil of the temple was torn (schidzo) in two from top to bottom.Notice: Top to bottom (from GOD), not bottom to top (man’s plan).
