Decoding the Matrix. The Blue or the Red Pill

The metaphorical meaning of The Matrix is a commentary on systems of control, such as conformity, capitalism, and social media, that create a false reality, or "matrix," which can be escaped through critical thinking, questioning assumptions, and seeking genuine human connection. It can represent how individuals are kept compliant and exploited by these systems, and how breaking free requires a conscious choice to wake up to the "real" world, even if it is more difficult.

Many people believe this 1999 movie revealed just a little too much about the way the world really is, so a series of movies was made afterwards to dumb it down as if it were some type of video game. Notice the green tint to the film that resembles green screen technology.
