🔍 CIA soft power abuse: How its agents hide in plain sight

💬 “One of America's most successful spies in the 2000s in Africa was a guy called Darryl Blocker. He was in fact a CIA agent working undercover in the continent,” Danish-British broadcaster Sandi Toksvig reveals.

She recalls that Blocker became a Ugandan celebrity after he successfully posed as an experience musician at a local bar.

💬 “In his other life, he was the head of the whole of the CIA in Africa. But he said his cover was perfect because nobody suspects a singer of being a spy,” Toksvig points out.

🤡 And who proved that point? The CIA itself.

Back in 2018, the agency posted on X that its officers work as “scientists, engineers, economists, mathematicians, accountants, architects, psychologists, police officers, editors, historians, museum curators, and MORE.”
