Denver was really assertive when grabbing food from my fingers. I almost felt like I was feeding a feasting shark and he would have bit my fingers off if given the chance. Denver, pleasantly, was not this way though. I gave Denver many opportunities to chew up and bloody my fingers if he really wanted to but he never did. I have been bitten by a doggie once and it was not Denver. I kept trying to pet that other doggie(not Denver) even though he kept moving because he was tired and very uncomfortable with me touching him. That other doggie(not Denver) chewed up my hand pretty bad. That other doggie(not Denver) tore up my skin really heavily and I had to go to the Doctor. I had to take antibiotics and it took several months for the skin on my hand to heal. Denver was not this way though. As long as I try not to force the doggie to be pet by me or move my fingers around the doggies mouth, then I will probably not get bitten. In this instance with Denver, I think he was far away eating on the ground and I grabbed the bars of his kennel. Denver came quickly to my hand, smelled and possibly butted my fingers, but never bit me. When the doggies are smelling my fingers, I never move my fingers to try and pet them, remove my fingers or something else until the doggie is far away from my fingers again. Denver did fine even though he would 'attack' the kibble or biscuits I would give him with frightening ferocity. Denver may have come from a large litter where he had to eat fast. 'Stealing' his food quickly otherwise he would not have eaten at all. Denver needs to build trust in people that the food will always be there if he really needs it. For some this constant desire to snatch and eat all the food never really goes away, regardless of always having food available❤️
