History of ROCK AND ROLL Music -- 1950 to Today

On Traveling Through History. we look at a very fun topic and that is the History of Rock and Roll Music from 1950 up until today.  We get into the origins of rock and roll coming from influences like R&B, jazz, gospel, and country music.  There are so many bands and artists that were instrumental in the development of rock and roll as a new genre of music and we review each of these.

We also look at the biggest events in rock and roll history, take a look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, and discuss Disc Jockey, Alan Freed who popularized the term "rock and roll" by saying it on his radio show to describe this new kind of music.  Finally, we take a look at some short videos so you can listen to some of the greatest rockers of all time!
