These arboreal marsupials, native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and northeastern Australia, have powerful limbs and long tails that aid in balance and climbing. Unlike their ground-dwelling cousins, they are adapted for life in the canopy and can safely leap up to 60 feet (nearly 20 meters) to the ground from trees without injury!

Their elusive nature and speedy climbing abilities are what earned them the nickname "ghosts of the forest".
