During a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, members urged Israel to honour its ceasefire commitments by facilitating the entry of aid into Gaza.

Calls were made to open additional border crossings and grant greater access to humanitarian workers, as delays continue to hinder relief efforts in the besieged enclave.

The UN reports that 1.5 million people in Gaza urgently require shelter as winter approaches, with aid deliveries slowed by closed crossings and congested routes.

UN officials emphasised the urgent need for shelter materials and essential supplies, while highlighting the limited leverage the organisation has to enforce the ceasefire terms.
Despite ongoing appeals, progress on opening crossings remains stagnant.

The humanitarian crisis continues to escalate, with international pressure mounting for immediate action.
