Posted • November 24, 2025: I Think It's Time for a Political Version of the Crusades — In the year 1095, Pope Urban II called for the First Crusade after Muslim forces had conquered two-thirds of the old Christian world. In his speech calling for the Crusade, Urban asserted that Christians were being robbed, murdered, and sold into slavery. A call went out from the Byzantine Emperor for help. Christians responded, armoring up, buckling on their swords, and marching to the Holy Land to push the Muslim invaders back. The modern narrative is that the Crusades were an offensive move by the church that slaughtered innocent Muslims to take their land. It wasn't. The Crusades were a defensive action against a brutal force that sought to dominate and enslave everything that came under its control. Not much has changed since those thousand and some-odd years. Islam is still a rampaging force attempting to conquer the West; however, it's not doing it through military tactics anymore.

Now it's preying on the Western world's sense of inclusion and naivety to conquer. Instead of armies marching in on horseback and waving banners, they're seeping in slowly, transforming areas demographically and politically to take it over from the inside. Sure enough, like it was then, so it is now. We're losing American ground to Islam, and while efforts are being made to stem the tide, it's not yet enough. I don't think people understand how bad it's gotten, and it's taking place in the heart of American freedom. As Mike Miller noted last Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations, and rightly so: The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world.'

The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable. Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas. —— This is great, but only as a start. In my opinion, Islam needs to face a strong rejection in the West, and one that it's encountered before. The thing about Islam is that it's not a religion so much as it is a political ideology. While it is a political system that stems from a religion, Islam is a set of governing rules, and these rules are wholly incompatible with the West. Their views on women's rights are clearly antithetical to the West's. They seek to murder those who are considered "sinful," which is almost everyone and everything.

Domination is the name of the game, and they'll do whatever they have to do to achieve that end. In many ways, this kind of domination isn't unlike communism or Nazism. In fact, Islam shares quite a bit in common with the latter. The one thing that our society does that is an absolute mistake is considering Islam to be something we should be "tolerant" about due to its connections to a religion. Here in America, we tend to value freedom of religion, which is great, but we're not talking about a religion here. We're talking about a despotic ideology, and I think America needs to wake up to the distinction. A cultural restructuring of what we think of when it comes to Islam is necessary if we're going to drive it back, but we can't stop there. We need to do what Abbott did and effectively designate Islamic groups as terrorist organizations, which isn't actually that uncommon in other countries.

We should ban Islamic centers, which are effectively the political centers of a violent and antagonistic ideology, and criminalize Sharia councils. Then, there's the alliance that should be made with moderate Democrats. Sadly, I think this will be easier said than done, but I do believe that if there are more Bill Maher or J.K. Rowling types out there than not. These secular leftists who actually do have a care for things like women's rights or gay rights would be happy to help in the fight to push back this movement. This last part will be integral to creating a cultural shift, as two sides of the aisle have to agree that something has to change. Once this begins in earnest, I expect monstrous amounts of pushback, especially from the Democrat Party and the media, but so be it. The Islamic groups trying to take over America aren't here to play nice. They're here to take over, just like they've been doing for well over a thousand years.
