“Any tariffs on Canada will mean higher prices for Americans and will cost American jobs. Nobody wants that.

We are entirely focused on making sure no tariffs ever get brought in on Canada. If tariffs are brought in, Canada’s response will be immediate and strong — but we don’t want that. We’re going to do the work to make sure they don’t come into effect, and we’re going to do the work to keep building things together across our border as best friends and allies.

But no, there is no trip to D.C. planned for now. We are continuing to engage closely with our American counterparts.”
