My Latest USPSA Match: Lots of Mistakes, Plenty of Lessons

Started on Stage 3 and fumbled the unloaded start when I picked up the mag off the barrel, even after doing tons of dry fire reload reps this week. Gotta stick with it. Stage 4 had another unloaded start with mags on me. I hesitated because I was worried about breaking the 180 during the draw and load, so I didn’t move as fast as I should have. Then I sent a round through a wall post, almost skipped a position, and almost got DQ’d on the right side. After watching the footage I can clearly see what went wrong and what I need to watch next time.

Stage 5 was the classifier Absolute Cinema (25-07). I felt good about that one. Stage 6 felt ok too, other than almost pulling a foot fault and picking up 3 mikes. Stage 1 is where I really screwed up. I took two makeup shots moving from position 1 to 2, realized those were penalties, and then realized I still needed the mandatory reload. Knocked that out and finished up on Stage 2 with 3 more mikes, 2 deltas, and a couple malfunctions.

Still a fun match and I always enjoy shooting with the Louisiana crew.
