The Malware Disaster on STEAM

In a truly stunning display of both predatory behavior, and subsequent community support, the crypto world has come together in order to support a cancer patient, who was maliciously robbed by malware hidden inside a seemingly innocent game on the Steam Marketplace.

Titled "BlockBlasters" the game was disguised as a play to earn offering with hundreds of reviews, and fabricated social media chatter in a way that made it a dangerous imposter in the video game ecosystem.

Far from the only example, its a reminder that even when a platform is largely trusted, the programs hosted on that platform are not.
