Hey everyone — it’s Leaflit here. In today’s video I’m reacting to a hard-hitting piece by Decoy Voice titled “They Just Surrendered the City..”, where he examines how the law enforcement in Dearborn, Michigan are allegedly not doing their job: citizens say that when crimes are reported, officers respond by telling them “just call the cops” instead of intervening, backing them up or even taking the initial call themselves.

I’m very critical of this situation. If the police department—and the local politicians who oversee them—are allowing this kind of passivity, what message does that send to the community? It sends that some lives or crimes don’t matter. It fosters distrust, fear and inequality. I also raise the question: are local officials quietly directing this behaviour by deprioritizing enforcement in certain areas or for certain people?

In this reaction I’ll walk through:

The claims Decoy Voice presents about the Dearborn police’s lack of enforcement and what it means when officers tell victims to “call the cops” while crime happens.

Why this is not just poor service — it’s a failure of public safety and equal justice.

How the politicians and police leadership might share responsibility — if the department is allowed to operate like this, leadership has failed the community.

My take: For a community to trust their police, they must see action, not hear excuses. Without meaningful enforcement and accountability, the “surrendering” of the city is real.

If you care about community safety, fairness in law enforcement, and honest conversations about local institutions — please like, subscribe, and hit the bell. And drop a comment: If you lived in Dearborn, what would you expect from your police department? Has your trust been shaken?
