Jeremiah 17:11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
The partridge is an interesting bird. It lays its eggs on the ground in a nest, rather than up in a tree or a bush. This practice is dangerous for the eggs. Ill gotten gains will come to naught and nobody can take their money with them to Heaven. The riches can disappear as quickly as they came. There is nothing wrong with having riches, but how were they gained and what is that person doing with the riches?
