Catholic Daily Readings and Reflection | Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe | November 23, 2025

Christ the King. But we find him on a cross. Mocked. Dying. The rulers sneered: let him save himself if he is the chosen one. One criminal said Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom. Today you will be with me in Paradise. He recognized what others missed—the dying man is king not despite the cross but because of it. He saves us by refusing to save himself. David became king after proving himself as shepherd. Jesus proved himself by dying for the sheep. Stop demanding he be a different king. He already established his kingdom on the cross.
