Ear Worms 077 - Discussing Rush 2112 Behind the Music & Album Concepts

There's no other sound in music quite like that of the Canadian rock band, Rush, cultivators of a unique sound that was truly their own. While their sound did change and evolve, it maintained a core that had its own fingerprint. We are going to talk about their early sound, specifically the album 2112, which was released in March of 1976. The album epitomizes Rush's hard, progressive rock sound. We will take a look at the lyrics and discuss the concept behind the album. The album The power trio on the album was the lineup that Rush maintained for well over 30 years: Geddy Lee on bass & vocals, Alex Lifeson on guitars, and Neil Peart on drums and percussion. We will talk about the 7 part epic, 2112, A Passage to Bangkok, The Twilight Zone, Lessons, Tears, and Something for Nothing.
