In a stunning announcement Friday night, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed she will resign from Congress effective January 5, 2026, ending her five-year tenure representing Georgia’s 14th District.

Greene posted an 11-minute video and a four-page resignation letter to X, citing her stance on the Jeffrey Epstein client list and her commitment to her family and principles. She stated:

“Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich powerful men should not result in me being called a traitor…”

Her resignation follows a fallout with President Donald Trump, who withdrew his endorsement after Greene pushed for the public release of Epstein files. She criticized MAGA Inc., Big Tech, Big Pharma, and the Military-Industrial Complex, arguing loyalty should go both ways and that representatives must serve their constituents’ interests.

The resignation will trigger a special election in Georgia’s deep-red 14th District, setting the stage for a high-profile political battle.
