The House Condemns Socialism with Key Support from Democratic Leaders

A resolution to condemn socialism was under discussion in the Capitol, and the vote was still underway. However, it drew attention that the four top Democratic leaders in the House—Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, Pete Aguilar, and Ted Lieu—voted alongside Republicans in favor of the condemnation, even though 96 Democrats opposed it.

The vote has now concluded, but political activity continues. While the voting was taking place, President Trump was preparing to receive representatives of the Democratic Socialists of New York at the White House for a meeting.
