Hey everyone, it’s Leaflit! In this video I’m reacting to two thought-provoking videos from Hero Hei — “They’re raging over ‘International Men’s Day’…” and “Chibidoki just got canceled” — where he highlights how Reddit and Twitter folks lost their minds over celebrations for men, specifically when Chibidoki said he’d buy flowers for his dad in honor of the day.

I’m going to be very honest: I believe there’s a double standard at play. If you cheer on International Women’s Day, Pride, Black History Month, Disability Pride, etc., you rarely hear the same outrage. But when it comes to men, or men being celebrated in a simple, non-threatening way (flowers for dad, father figure acknowledgement), the social media mob springs into action. I’m calling out:

The impatience and hostility toward men’s day celebrations — why is it shut down so quickly?

The broader pattern: celebrating almost every identity or group except men (and often white men) seems acceptable, yet when it comes to men, the default response is anger.

The hypocrisy of some critics: they call out “celebration” when it’s men, but support “recognition” when it’s other groups.

Why the meltdown over Chibidoki’s innocent gesture (father day flowers + International Men’s Day acknowledgement) reveals more about the critics than the celebrated.
