His info was never corroborated, either because he was a gov agent, or used trade secrets/proprietary info from steel industry, or his fam was paid off after his death if he wasn't an operative, for his research not to be disclosed.
Basically he claimed to be able to use 90s tech from the steel business to break down photos into layers of paint and extract components of the picture from there.
Something I think is important about his info, is the Z being fake wouldn't invalidate his observation from it, seeing the bullet, that is of a moment in time. Z took frames out, put patches on top of others & edited images together, but the frames themselves some of them anyway are real moments in time, inside the car (the crowd OTOH appears to be stitched together the whole film).
