As King David and his loyal followers flee to the east side of the Jordan River, David encounters Ziba, Mephibosheth’s servant, who lies in order to obtain Mephibosheth’s property. Further on, he encounters Shimei from the house of Saul who curses the king and hurls stones at him. David's servants seek his permission to kill Shimei. “But the king said, ‘What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him, “Curse David.” Who then shall say, “Why have you done so” ’ “ (2 Samuel 16:10 NKJV)?

In this age of massive deception and delusion, Pastor Kevin encourages believers to take comfort in the knowledge that Jesus knows the truth even when we cannot. Pastor Kevin also shows parallels between David’s response to Shimei’s cursing and Jesus, “Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:23, 24 NKJV).
