Ariana Grande turned heads at the 16th Governors Awards, marking her first red carpet outing since a fan lunged at her during a Singapore event the week prior.

The 32-year-old singer arrived in Los Angeles wearing a soft pink Dior gown that featured a single shoulder strap, intricate beadwork and a dramatic hip sash. She paired the look with an elegant updo, shimmering eye makeup, bold lashes, glossy lips and delicate pink earrings.

Grande, who stars in *Wicked*, attended the ceremony alongside stars like Sydney Sweeney, Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez. Her appearance came days after a disturbing moment at the Singapore premiere of *Wicked: For Good*, where a man suddenly jumped a barricade and grabbed her. Cynthia Erivo, Ariana’s co-star, was seen quickly pulling her away in footage of the incident.

Singapore authorities later arrested 26-year-old Johnson Wen, who was charged with being a public nuisance for creating what officials called an “alarming” and “unsettling” disturbance.

Marissa Bode, another *Wicked* cast member who plays Nessarose Thropp, addressed the incident on TikTok. She said she felt unsafe during the premiere and criticized people online who defended Wen as merely an overenthusiastic fan. She called his behavior unacceptable, adding that social media often encourages reckless actions for attention.

Bode emphasized that celebrities are “people, not products,” and said anyone who feels entitled to invade their personal space isn’t a real fan.

Ariana has not publicly spoken about the encounter, instead posting photos from the Governors Awards on Instagram with a simple message: “Thank you Singapore. We love you.”
