As winter approaches, it is certainly getting colder, and so I looked around for some hand warmers to take on my walks. This new set from FZIFZI seemed fine, being not too large, pretty powerful and currently priced at less than £15, certainly not too dear.

In the attractive box are the two hand warmers together with a short double headed charging cable, two wrist straps, and a user guide. Build quality seems fine. The hand warmers are made from ABS plastic but seem well made and built to last. There is nothing that looks likely to fail with them anytime soon.

Each 97 x 55 x 27 mm mm 84g hand warmer has a single button on the top face with a row of three LEDs to indicate the mode and battery level. On the front face is the USB-C charging port.

Long press the button to turn the handwarmer off or on, short press to scroll through the three heating modes, double-press to see the current battery level.

The heating modes are:

Low (40-45°C),
Medium (45-50°C), and
High (50-57°C).

On the front edge is the USB-C charging port. A full charge of the 3000 mAh lLithium-Ion batteries should give between 4 and 7 hours of heat from each unit, depending on the heat level selected. The set is supplied with a dual plug charging cable, and charging both takes around four hours, and a single unit just three hours. Just in case you are wondering, no, the hand warmers cannot be used while charging.

The heaters turn on very quickly compared to some others I have tried, and you should feel them heating significantly about three seconds after pressing the button.

These magnetic hand warmers can be locked together. Just hold them back to back, and they should click in place together to make one large unit for maximum warming. Held separately, each compact sized device can be slipped inside a glove for ease of use. As hand warmers, they work better and feel more comfortable in the hand when paired together, but work perfectly well when separated, with one in each hand. The hand warmers are slimline, light in weight, and fit nicely inside a glove if it is not too tight.

The unusual feature of these hand warmers is the inclusion of a fidget gadget type spinning wheel incorporated into each hand warmer. You can idly pass the time by rotating the wheel with your thumb during reflective moments, and I have to say it's difficult to resist doing this.

For the current discounted price of just £14.99 for the pair, I think this is a pretty decent buy.
