Paramount is shifting its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise by bringing in Sonic the Hedgehog producer Neal H. Moritz to oversee a new live-action CG hybrid movie aimed at a more mainstream four-quadrant audience, leading to the shelving of the R-rated Last Ronin project that had director Ilya Naishuller in talks earlier this year under the new Skydance-controlled leadership headed by David Ellison, who preferred avoiding a violent adult story for the Turtles' first non-animated film in a decade; meanwhile, the animated sequel to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Mutant Mayhem is moving forward for September 7, 2027, with Jeff Rowe returning to direct. In comic news, Bad Idea Comics reveals a first look at Planet Death #3, featuring stunning pencils by Tomás Giorello . Corporal Scott the lone survivor of his battalion, pushes to destroy a devastating weapon garrison on a hostile alien world amid legions of enemies, co-written by blockbuster screenwriter Derek Kolstad and New York Times bestseller Robert Venditti, with an upcoming Original Art Edition showcasing pencils, inks, character designs, and more.
