Survivors call for full Epstein disclosure after Congress passes transparency law

The US Congress showed rare bipartisan unity as both chambers overwhelmingly passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
The law compels the Justice Department to release tens of thousands of documents on Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s trafficking network.
Survivors celebrated the vote, though many voiced deep scepticism about whether the full truth will emerge.
Donald Trump, who was once friendly with Epstein, says he will sign the bill despite previously opposing the release of the files.
Republicans had resisted Democrats’ efforts for months before shifting under growing public pressure.
The law still allows the Justice Department to withhold documents tied to ongoing investigations or victim identities.
Survivors say they must continue pressing for full disclosure as the files are due for release by 19 December.
