Acts 13-14 Explained | Through Many Tribulations | 11/21/25

In today’s chronological reading of Acts 13–14, we follow Barnabas and Saul from their Spirit-led commissioning in Antioch to powerful encounters in synagogues, a clash with the false prophet Bar-Jesus, and a dramatic display of spiritual authority as Saul pronounces blindness by the Holy Spirit’s power. We explore Jesus’ promise about the ecclesia, the keys of the kingdom, and what it means to walk in real spiritual authority—not lukewarm cultural Christianity. In Lystra, Paul and Barnabas are first treated like Greek gods, then Paul is stoned, dragged out of the city, and left for dead—raising the question of near-death and resurrection, and what true discipleship costs. The disciples encourage new believers with this sobering truth: “It is necessary to go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God.” Walk the narrow road with us as we seek to hear God personally and obey his calling.
