Muslim men are never, ever allowed to be around, see, converse with or otherwise interact with any females outside of their families. London UK: A British minister has expressed concern over inbreeding among Pakistani community in the country that is leading to a surge in birth defects.
"We need to debate first-cousin marriages," the British Environment Minister Phil Woolas said, a comment that could spark a row over the social practice among Muslims worldwide.

The Labour leader said the culture of arranged marriages between first cousins was the "elephant in the room", too sensitive for anyone to mention.

"A lot of arranged marriages are with first-cousins, and that produces lots of genetic problems in terms of disability," he was quoted as saying by The Sunday Times.

Medical research suggests that while British Pakistanis are responsible for 3 per cent of all births, they account for one in three British children born with genetic illnesses, the report said.

"If you talk to any primary care worker they will tell you that levels of disability among the Pakistani population are higher than the general population. And everybody knows its caused by first cousin marriage," the minister was quoted as saying in the media.

The research claims the risks of inbreeding rise sharply if the practice is repeated over several generations.

"This is to do with a medieval culture where you keep wealth within the family," Labour MP Ann Cryer said, urging the authorities to warn parents about the dangers.

What is it we can do?

Denmark is a pioneering example of where to begin: in order to counter forced marriages, the country does not allow Danish citizens to marry foreigners younger than 24 years old. It also offers non-Western immigrants up to 15 thousand euros or 20 thousand dollars to emigrate back to their countries of origin. Immigrants who are not Danish citizens are banished from Denmark if they commit violent crimes. The state does not support families economically for having more than the country’s average amount of children. This prevents foreigners from coming to Denmark who have plans to have a lot of children and live off the state’s child support system. The country also denies resident permits to foreigners who are marrying their cousin in Denmark. Right now, the country is working on a complete halt to immigration from countries that are not oriented towards Western values (mainly Muslim countries).

We must simply forbid intermarriage among first cousins. Doing so will not only help slow down all the terrible consequences of inbreeding, but also prevent Muslims who insist on practicing this damaging practice from moving to our countries.

Let us keep in mind that Muslims are the first — though maybe not the biggest — victims of Islam. As long as we know that our motivation is to help them, then our conscience is clear in the face of the left’s accusations that we are somehow “anti-Muslim” when we show our concern about Muslim babies who are born with mental and physical defects — and about their parents who endure endless suffering and worry. In fact, it is the left’s callous silence on this issue (and on so many others) that exposes who is truly “anti-Muslim.”

As long as we stick to facts, have a compassionate motivation, and are still able to be brave, we can be certain that not only are we right to reach out to protect Muslim people, but that in doing so we are also protecting ourselves from destroying our own basic humanistic and Western values while struggling against anti-human and aggressive practices and ideologies.

U.S. Minnesota Rep. Omar files for divorce from her brother husband... U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar has filed for divorce from her husband, citing an “irretrievable breakdown” of her marriage.

The freshman Democrat filed for divorce from Ahmed Hirsi on Friday in Minnesota’s Hennepin County District Court. Omar and Hirsi have been legally married since 2018 but have been together for years.

The petition, which Omar signed Friday while in Burkina Faso, does not elaborate on what caused the marriage to break down. It comes more than a month after a Washington, D.C., woman accused Omar of having an affair with her husband.

When Omar was asked at the time whether she was separated from her husband or dating someone, she told WCCO-TV, “No, I am not.” She has since declined to discuss her personal life.

Omar’s attorney, Jaime Driggs, issued a statement Monday saying: “As with all marriages, this is intensely personal and a difficult time for their family. For years, Ilhan and Ahmed have been the object of speculation and innuendo from political opponents and the media.”

Driggs said this has taken a toll on the family, and that Omar wished for privacy and would have no further comment.

When asked specifically whether Omar had an affair, Driggs did not answer but referred back to his statement. Omar’s office said it would only discuss official matters.

The court case does not list an attorney for Hirsi. A working phone number for Hirsi was not immediately available and he did not return emailed requests for comment.

Omar has been dogged by questions about her personal life since she first ran for state representative in 2016, with some conservatives alleging she was married to two men at once and that one of them was her brother — claims she called “disgusting lies.”

Allah Says (what means):{O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayer. [These are] three times of privacy for you.} [Quran 24: 58]. In this verse Allaah has ordered the children to ask permission lest they could see something which could arouse their sexual desire.

The end result is that a guardian is responsible to teach the children Islamic ethics and take care of them. He should not bring bad and erotic objects at home, as this badly affects the children's morals. We advise our brother to do the following:

1. Exhort them both: the brother and the sister. Explain them that they have committed a grave sin. The punishment of this crime in Islam is to execute the one who commits it. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “Whoever has sex with a Mahram (an unmarriageable woman) you should kill him”.

2. You should not give any chance for them to be alone in any place.

3. Each one of them should be married as early as possible.

4. Urge them to fast because fasting diminishes one's sexual power and helps to lower the gaze. Keep them away from all erotic materials such as pictures, magazines etc. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “O young people! Whoever can marry should marry, as it helps to lower one’s gaze, and protects one’s private parts, and whoever is not able to marry should fast, as this helps him to protect his private parts (from committing illegal sexual intercourse).” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] - Allah knows best.

It's like if I write some software in one project and try to combine it the code I've written in another project, it's easier for me to do it because my coding style is similar and I know the code. But if I have to merge somebody else's code into my code, there would be a heck of a lot of merge conflicts and errors. Sure, I may learn better programming from the other person's efficient code, but the amount of bugs, testing etc. will be much more cumbersome.

Cell division involves mitosis primarily. In sexual reproduction there is meiosis. Genetic recombination occurs primarily when there is sexual reproduction. In short, your cells are simply multiplying, they do not have sex, and thus there is no novel genetic material (which there is with sexual reproduction). In sexual reproduction, there is a 'purging' effect: if there is a bad allele in some parental DNA, it could be masked by a good copy of the other parent. Your question stems from a misunderstanding of sexual reproduction and a mixup of inbreeding, very different to somatic cell divison.

In a real population imagine every individual has tens of thousands of genes and each of them can be made nonfunctional by random mutation. The nonfunctional copy often does not have effect since the individual has another functional copy. The problems with inbreeding also exist, they are just a different kind of problem with a different cause and effect. Here, what you are afraid of is not a mutation. Rather, as explained in more depth in the other answers, if the father has one good and one malfunctioning copy of a gene, and the mother has one good and one malfunctioning copy of the same gene, you get very high chances of having a baby with two malfunctioning copies of that gene, without any transcription errors coming into play at all. And it is very rare for this to happen if you randomly select a mother and a father from the population, but if the two of them share a significant proportion of their genes (because they are related), it happens fairly frequently - enough for basically all human societies to have noticed it even in ancient times and to have created taboos around inbreeding.

A third thing can also happen, which is a de novo mutation in the very early stages of cell division of the zygote. It is not necessarily a result of merging the genomes of the mother and the father, but rather a cell division problem after this merging has happened. It is not necessarily more rare, per division event, than the somatic mutations (the first kind of problem). But it will affect all the cells emerging from that mutated cell, which will be a significant proportion of the baby's body. This is an event that is not very noticeable, since many of the problems at that stage will not result in a life birth - in fact the pregnancy/conception can end so early that the mother never realizes she conceived. It is also not as prominent in social norms, since it is not correlated to something obvious like inbreeding, so there are no traditional prohibitions for events that lead to it (actually, there are modern prohibitions, like warnings in situations which can cause mutations in a fetus or a zygote).

All three of these exist, and all of these lead to problems. So your wondering why one is a problem and the other isn't is based on a misunderstanding.
