If Courts Can Stop Texas GOP ‘Gerrymandering,’ Why Not California Dems’ Prop 50 Map?

Three federal judges blocked Texas from using Republicans’ new House map in the 2026 midterms Tuesday, halting the GOP from securing five additional House seats.

However, the Trump administration is also accusing California of racial gerrymandering, a Constitutional violation, by favoring Hispanic voters with the new map.

So, it looks like “racial gerrymandering” is Democrats’ and Republicans’ common accusation of each other in Texas and California.

But none of it will really matter when the Supreme Court rules on Louisiana v. Callais sometime next year.
