Catholic Daily Readings and Reflection | Thursday of the Thirty-third Week in Ordinary Time | November 20, 2025

Jesus wept over Jerusalem. If this day you only knew what makes for peace. But now it is hidden from your eyes. They didn't recognize the time of their visitation. Forty years later Rome destroyed the city. Not one stone left upon another. Mattathias was offered honor and wealth to compromise. He refused. Although all the Gentiles obey the king, I and my sons will keep to the covenant. He sacrificed everything and sparked a revolt that saved Israel. You're being visited right now. But you're looking for peace in comfort when God is showing you it comes through sacrifice and covenant faithfulness.
