Visiting Katzenbuckel 🇩🇪 (2024-08)

Footage covers Katzenbuckel lake, Katzenbuckel lookout and Katzenbuckel ski jump facility, located near the village of Waldkatzenbach, Neckar-Odenwald district, Baden Württemberg, Germany.
The Katzenbuckel (626 amsl) is an extinct volcano and the highest elevation in the Odenwald region of southwest Germany. The mountain is located eastwards of Eberbach. At the top of the Katzenbuckel is an 18-m-high lookout, built out of sandstone in the year 1820.
The Katzenbuckel lake is a flooded former quarry.
The ski jump facility includes three jumps. The construction points (German: Konstruktionspunkt), also known as the K-point are 7 m, 12 m, 25 m. The steel tower from 2004 replaced earlier timber structures originating from 1952, 1976, and 1994. It is a mat jump with ceramics sliding track (allowing for use without snow). The facility appears to be no longer in use.
