Poland may issue a decree on the arrest of an aircraft with Russian President Vladimir Putin if it enters Polish airspace. This was announced today, October 21, by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
Sikorsky made his statement in connection with the planned meeting of US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Budapest and the possibility of using the Russian leader's route to travel to Hungary through Polish airspace.
"We cannot guarantee that an independent court will not order the government to confiscate such a plane to transport a suspect to the Hague Tribunal," the minister said.
According to the Polish Foreign Minister, the Russian president could reach Hungary, for example, through the airspace of Turkey, Montenegro and Serbia. At the same time, he criticized Budapest for inviting "a person subject to the decision of the International Criminal Court."
