Colonel Grant Newsham, Senior Research Fellow at Japan Forum for Strategic Studies

Colonel Grant Newsham discussed with me the threats the Chinese Communist Party has been making towards Japan in the aftermath of a candid comment by its new prime minister that an attack by China on Taiwan might pose an existential threat to Japan and result in her having to respond militarily.

What's going on there? What are we doing to try to assure that our ally is not in fact threatened by the Chinese? And what about Taiwan? We're told Chinese will be able to invade it in 2027. Colonel Newsom has a chilling insight that it may not be that far off, or it may be possible for the Chinese to take the island without fighting through elections.

Rep. John Moolenaar, Chair of the House Committee on the Chinese Communist Party

I had a stunningly impressive conversation with Congressman John Molinar, the chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, in which we discussed what Alibaba is doing like so many other Chinese companies, in the service of not only the Chinese Communist Party, but the Chinese military, at the expense of America's vital national security interests and the personal information of countless of our countrymen and women. And not least, what it might mean that we are financing Alibaba and companies like it with American pension funds, mutual funds, exchange-shaded funds, and the like, enabling, in short, an ever-increasing, indeed mortal peril to our country on our dime.

Sergio de la Pena, Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs

We talked about Venezuela with Sergio de la Pena. What is going on there at the moment? What is the US military poised to do? And is President Trump going to try to talk Maduro into leaving? And if so, what would come next? Does the United States have a real plan for hemispheric security, which unfortunately requires addressing very directly the penetration of our region by enemies including the Chinese Communist Party, Iran, Russia, Cuba, and North Korea. We must take corrective action, but what will it be?
