In this news update:

-Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday declared one of the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy groups in the U.S. a “foreign terrorist organization".

-Both the House and Senate acted decisively Tuesday to pass a bill to force the Justice Department to publicly release its files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

-Texas responded to a panel's decision. The panel said that Texas cannot use a new congressional map drawn by Republicans in hopes of securing more U.S. House seats for the party.
