Dismantling and reconstructing a historic Cairo district

Egyptian restorers are reconstructing a dilapidated neighborhood in Cairo's historic center, dismantling houses then rebuilding them with materials from the old structures in a model they hope can be applied to other districts. Zachary Goelman produced this report.
