Peel police are looking to identify a suspect who allegedly removed a licence plate from their vehicle after fleeing the site of a fatal hit and run in Mississauga Friday night.
Around 9:05 p.m. Friday, a person driving a Mini Cooper struck a pedestrian around Eglinton Avenue W. and Fallingbrook Drive, Peel Regional Police said in a news release.
The pedestrian, a 56-year-old man from Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. The driver fled the scene “without checking on the person they struck,” police said.
