A Statement Without Courage: TMU Refuses To Name SJP After Anti-Israel Mob Attack

In what can only be described as a masterclass on making a statement but actually saying nothing, Toronto Metropolitan University recently put out a press release in regards to the dramatic incident which happened on campus where members of an anti-Israel riot were arrested as part of a mob organized by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

The statement from TMU, formerly Ryerson University, made multiple vague statements, but left out the most pertinent information.

Exposing and condemning those responsible for such hateful acts by the school administration is important as it sets the tone against hate on campus. As antisemitism continues to rise across Canada, it is imperative that Jewish and pro-Israel students feel safe on campus. That can only occur when school administrations are serious about tackling hate.
