When interest in the mind’s projections subsides—and with it the fascination for the little character it invents—the beauty we sought outside is recognized as the radiance of the beholder, the Light of God that illumines all appearances. By quietly disidentifying from thought and returning again and again to the simple inquiry “Who am I?” the narrative loses its spell; the superstition of fear unravels; and sensitivity, no longer reactive, ripens into clear discernment and natural compassion.
