Philip K. Dick's 1964 novel The Simulacra features Felix Karp, a corporate overlord of synthetic humans. Is Palantir CEO Alex Karp the real-world version?

In Philip K. Dick’s “The Simulacra,” the shadowy corporate magnate Felix Karp runs Karp und Sohnen Werke (Karp and Sons) —a sprawling conglomerate that manufactures synthetic humans, manipulates governments, and sells illusion as reality.

Fast-forward to 2025: Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir Technologies, oversees a surveillance empire that ingests petabytes of data to “predict” human behavior for intelligence agencies and militaries worldwide.

Coincidence? Did PKD get a glimpse into the future? Did he predict a Karp technocrat would emerge?

“The empire never ended… it just rebranded.” – PKD (probably) Watch before the algorithm buries it.
