Ear Worms 076 - Babylon 5 Deathwalker & Humanity's Readiness for Immortality

This week, we will be discussing The Babylon 5 Season 1 episode, "Deathwalker," which brings up an excellent discussion on immortality and the price that may be paid for such a gift. We will talk about the character, Deathwalker, who is the last of her kind and after a lifetime of war crimes has spent the last years of her life coming up with a cure for disease and aging. There is a trade off for this cure, however, in that the key ingredient for making the serum requires the death of other individuals just to make a batch for one other individual. In other words, it is trading a life for a life. Deathwalker foresees the rest of the races in the galaxy fighting each other for immortality. The Vorlons, however, do have something to say about it by the end of the episode.
