Time Forgot - When everything felt possible and nothing lasted forever.
Remember sitting in that parking lot past midnight? Radio playing something you pretended not to care about? Talking until the sun came up like time didn't exist? That summer when the world felt smaller and you were so sure this would last forever?
This is for everyone who drives past old places and wonders if they remember too. For the jacket that still smells like cheap perfume. For the plans made before we learned that people leave.
Sometimes I wonder if you miss those nights too.

Lyrics:
Remember when we'd sit outside
Your car still running past midnight
The radio was playing something
We pretended not to care about
Those summer nights felt infinite
Now I drive by and wonder if
You ever think about the way
We talked until the sun came up
I wish I could go back to seventeen
When everything felt possible to me
The world was smaller then, we were so sure
That this would last forever more
In that parking lot
Time forgot
I found your jacket in my room
It still smells like that cheap perfume
The one you wore to graduation
Said you'd call but seasons changed
Now I'm older, things are different
But I still feel something missing
When I think about the plans we made
Before we learned that people leave
I wish I could go back to seventeen
When everything felt possible to me
The world was smaller then, we were so sure
That this would last forever more
In that parking lot
Time forgot
What we had
Can't get back
Sometimes I wonder if you drive
Past all the places we'd arrive
At 2AM with nowhere else to go
Just talking low
Those nights I know
You miss them too
