Met Police chief inspector tried to frame his boss by making bogus allegations of "racism" against her, a court heard.

Zahir Asghar, 45, is accused of falsely reporting that Superintendent Lisa Butterfield had racially abused an Uber Eats rider.

Asghar, a chief inspector since 2023, is said to have carried out the offence with his cousin, 45-year-old Afrasayab Aslam.

The pair earlier denied conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
