Inside the Biggest Shred Collab 6: My Journey & Tips! 🎸🔥

In 2023 I entered a couple of guitar contests, and this one was hosted by Jared Dines and was called the Biggest Shred Collab 6. I shall be entering again next year and will look for some other contests to enter as well. If you see any, let me know. For this one, since the focus was on shred guitar, I decided to do something shreddy and since I'm still working on my sweep and arpeggio playing, I figured something shreddy I am currently decent at is tapping, so I decided to write a lick using guitar tapping across scales. Jared Dines provided the backing tracks, so what I had to do was construct a solo that would fit nicely over what he had already come up with. I used about four different positions of the A minor scale across 3 strings with my tapping finger hovering around the 20th fret. This allowed for some nice melodic phrases as I moved my fretting hand down the fretboard towards the 12th fret. In this lesson, I break down exactly what I did to create this solo and record this solo, including my thought process, my approach to songwriting, and some of the reasons I chose to play the notes I played.
