On a peaceful Australian billabong the bone-shattering sound of skulls smacked together presages the crocodile breeding season. The male crocodiles of Kakadu - the most dangerous in the world - are at their most aggressive, fighting for territory and mating rights.

"The Living Edens - Kakadu" follows a year in the lives of these fascinating creatures. Fellow inhabitants 'of this Antipodean Eden include fish which spit to disable their prey, birds which mate - not in pairs, but in threesomes, and boxing kangaroos.

From its ancient sandstone escarpments, plunging waterfalls, vast flooded landscapes to parched, cracked earth and stunning electrical storms, Kakadu is a televisual treat. From the award-winning international "Living Edens" series.
