Witch Pond: Desert Pool, Petroglyphs, and Paiute Tradition

Streamed on:

I hiked to a secluded perennial pool known locally as Witch Pond. Petroglyphs and stories of Paiute ceremonies surround this quiet water source in the desert. In this episode, I share my journey to the pond, describe the landscape, and provide a careful observation of the rock art from a respectful distance. While I’m not an archaeologist, I aim to document my findings and convey the on-site experience of the setting.

Notes on respect and safety: I do not disclose exact locations or routes. Please practice Leave No Trace principles, avoid touching or using chalk on petroglyphs, and steer clear of fragile soils around springs. Cultural sites deserve our care and attention.
