Can a Muslim Leader Join a Non-Muslim-Led Coalition Against the Khawārij? | Shaykh Ahmad Jibril

This is one of the most pressing questions of our time. In an age of global alliances, military coalitions, and ideological manipulation, many Muslim leaders justify joining forces with non-Muslim powers — claiming it is to “fight the Khawārij.”

But what does Islam actually say?

This reminder explores the fiqh and manhaj behind this question — analyzing the evidences from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the understanding of the Salaf. Can a Muslim ruler ally with disbelievers against a group of Muslims, even if those Muslims are sinful or deviant?

“And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (authority) over the believers.” (Surat an-Nisā’, verse 141)

This lecture exposes the false modern justifications used to legitimize alliances with the enemies of Islam under the guise of “countering extremism,” reminding the Ummah that no cause justifies betrayal of the Deen.
