💥🇨🇳 China’s mega EV factory dwarfs Tesla’s empire

Electric vehicle giant BYD is building a factory of staggering scale and ambition.

🔥 The Zhengzhou-based facility in Henan province already dwarfs Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada by roughly seven times (per reports analyzing Vantor/Planet Images satellite imagery).

Its projected to span approximately 130 square kilometers when completed and is geared towards large-scale production of electric vehicles and batteries.

It first broke ground in late 2021, with production beginning in 2023 at the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone.

👉 The project is divided into six phases, involving complete vehicles, batteries, semiconductors, and electronic components, with a planned annual production capacity of 1.8 million vehicles, per local media reports.

The mega factory is a self-contained "city within a city" that boasts a testing circuit, high-rise dormitories for workers, football pitches, and tennis courts, according to media reports.

Out-rivaling Tesla
