Highlights of the Australian teams' record-breaking achievements at the 14th Commonwealth Games, Auckland, New Zealand, 1990.

Around 200 Australian sportsmen and women headed for Auckland, in search of Gold.

They returned triumphant, exceeding the expectations of even the most optimistic of Aussie sports fans.

162 medals — 52 gold, 54 silver and 56 bronze — tells the story. It was gold, gold, gold all the way for Australia.

Our all-conquering team left New Zealand the most successful in Commonwealth Games history, shattering the medal tally of 143 set by England at Edinburgh in 1986.
