• How to be a Good Follower • Ep 799

In our culture today, following is not seen my most as a virtue. Leadership is. However God says the opposite. You cannot be a good Leader if you are not a good follower.

"You don't have to be like me. The concept is to follow Jesus and become like Him."

Matthew 4:19 ~
"And He said to them, 'FOLLOW ME, and I will make you fishers of men.'"

Mark 1:17 ~
"And Jesus said unto them, 'COME YE AFTER [FOLLOW] ME, and I will make you to become fishers of men.'"

Mark 2:14 ~
"And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, 'FOLLOW ME.' And he arose and followed Him."

Luke 5:27 ~
"And after these things He went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and He said unto him, 'FOLLOW ME.'"

What does it mean to follow someone?

Could you with confidence and peace say to someone
: "I follow Jesus?"

Romans 10:11 ~
"For the Scripture says: 'Whoever believes on Him will not be ashamed.'"

Matthew 10:33 ~
"But whoever will deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in Heaven."

Mark 8:38 ~
"Whoever therefore will be ashamed of Me and of My Words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also will the Son of Man be ashamed, when He comes in the Glory of His Father with the Holy Angels."

Romans 10:9-10 ~
"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation."
