US President Donald Trump attended and spoke at Israel’s Knesset (parliament) on 13th October 2025 and was applauded for his role in aiding and empowering the Israeli army in carrying out its operations throughout Palestine post-2023.

Embodying the Dahiya Doctrine, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu oversaw the large-scale destruction of civil infrastructure. His military specifically targeted economic interests and centers of civilian power across the Strip, an action that amounts to a form of collective punishment that is considered a war crime under international law. Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention forbids the practice of punishing individuals or groups for acts they did not personally commit.

According to a report released by the medical journal The Lancet in July 2024, the death toll in Gaza exceeded 186,000 people, and Al Jazeera finds that at least 242 Palestinians have been killed by Israel, who violated the ceasefire agreement at least 282 times from 10 October to 10 November, 2025

In spite of the fact that a genocide was carried out in Gaza, according to the United Nations, Donald Trump describes Benjamin Netanyahu as “one of the greatest wartime presidents” and calls upon Israel’s President, Isaac Herzog, to “give him [Netanyahu] a pardon” in regard to the corruption charges he faces.

In addition to the crime of committing genocide, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was charged with bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.

How should Netanyahu be held effectively accountable for the crimes committed across occupied Palestine?
