Dawne Hoeg created Stitch Buffalo five year ago. It's a special, non-profit workshop where refugee women can make and sell their hand-made creations. Dawne provides the ladies with materials as well as instruction. There are a number of languages spoken here which can make it tricky. Dawne says "it's a lot of hand gestures, charades. we have the common denominator of creating something beautiful." The gift shop is filled with a colorful collection of the women's creations. There will be a "pop-up" sale here on February 2nd. You can find Stitch Buffalo at 1215 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY and there is more information at their web site
