"These days, the words of politicians about Remembrance Day feel more insulting than inspiring. Their speeches ring hollow, full of rehearsed gratitude that no longer matches the weight of what we now know.

“Thank you for your service” isn’t enough anymore. Our vets deserve truth, and a real apology. Not the kind politicians give for optics, but one that admits many were sent to die not for our freedoms, but for others’ interests in faraway lands.

The greatest act of respect we can offer is honesty. Only then can healing begin.
